When was TECOM Investments founded?
TECOM Investments FZ LLC, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding was established in July 2005.
What is the difference between Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority and TECOM Investments?
Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority (DTMFZA) was established in the year 2000 under Law No1 of 2000 by the ruler of Dubai as the custodian of the Free Zone (Dubai Technology and Media). It is owned by the Government of Dubai and manages, operates and supervises the Free Zone, taking all necessary actions to achieve the objectives of the Free Zone.
DTMFZA approves the establishment and registration of companies in the free zone and regulates all related procedures and matters including incorporation, registration and liquidation. DTMFZA also presents and organizes the Dubai International Film Festival, a not-for-profit cultural event.
TECOM Investments LLC – a subsidiary of Dubai Holding - was registered, nominated and assigned the responsibility of managing the commercial aspects of the business within the free zone as per the rules and regulations prescribed by DTMFZA. All the business parks are under the custodianship of TECOM Investments LLC .

TECOM Investments develops and manages businesses that support the growth of knowledge-based industries in Dubai. Presently, TECOM Investments has interests in five industry clusters: information and communication technology (ICT), media, education, life sciences and clean technology.

TECOM Investments manages entities like Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Knowledge Village, Dubai International Academic City, eHosting DataFort, International Media Production Zone, Dubai Outsource Zone, Dubai Studio City, DuBiotech and Enpark.
TECOM Investments’ phenomenal growth also encompasses local and international joint venture interests like Empower, a district cooling service provider established as a joint venture with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Emirates International Telecommunications Limited, a joint venture with Dubai Investment Group and SmartCity, a joint venture formed with SAMA Dubai to develop and manage knowledge industry townships worldwide.
Emirates International Telecommunications Limited holds stakes in Tunisie Telecom and GO, telecommunication carriers in Tunisia and Malta respectively. SmartCity has already laid the foundations of a global network of knowledge driven clusters through agreements to develop SmartCity Malta and SmartCity Kochi.
