Chaired by Ahmad Bin Byat and led by CEO Osman Sultan, the company has an authorized, issued and paid up capital of AED 4 billion. Following a public sale of shares by the founding shareholders, the company is 40 percent owned by the Federal Government, 20 percent by Mubadala Development Company, 20 percent by TECOM Investments, with the remaining 20 percent being owned by public shareholders. du was listed in the Dubai Financial Market on 26 April 2006 under the trade name ‘du’.

Services for individuals

Since the roll-out of its state-of-the-art 3.5G network in February 2007, du has focused on delivering highly differentiated and innovative mobile as well as fixed-line services to the people of the UAE. Among the many firsts to its credit include the first of its kind Number Booking Campaign, One dirham offer, Pay by the Second billing, Mobile Payments, E-shop, Next Generation Mobile Services such as Mobile TV, international video calling, video mail, 3.5G mobile broadband and Homecam.
du recently launched the innovative new ‘WoW’ Recharge Card offering the convenience of more credit or more validity. In addition to this, du launched internet and pay TV services in some of the free zones of Dubai. Call Select, the first of du's fixed line services, was launched in July 2007.
